Thomas Dennis Moore

January 18, 1956 – February 5, 2026

Thomas Dennis Moore, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on February 5, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Tom was born on January 18, 1956, in Chatham, Ontario. As a travelling salesman, he settled in a few different cities before finding his true home in London, Ontario for over 30 years, with his wife Kathy. In 2021 they made a fun move to St Thomas, Ontario where they got to experience building their own home.

He was the devoted husband of Kathy Moore (née Hosfeld) for almost 39 years and the proud father of Jill Moore (Alex), Melissa Dietz (Brandon), and Megan Josten (Jeremy). Proud Grandpa/Papa to Arielle, Olivier, Kallie, Lincoln, and Aria. He was also a cherished brother to Bill Moore (Irene), Susan Moore, and Sally Brand (Brian), and a much-loved brother-in-law to Dan Hosfeld (Sarita), Rick Hosfeld, Mike Hosfeld (Tricia), and Karen Cicerone (Tony)—all of whom he loved like his own siblings. Tom will also be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law, Mary Hosfeld and deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Tom is predeceased by his parents, Ted and Joanne Moore and his father-in-law, Douglas Hosfeld.

Tom leaves behind a family who deeply admired his strength, humor, and unwavering love.

Tom was a man who loved his family fiercely. He never missed a soccer game, piano recital, or concert, always cheering the loudest and making us feel like we could do anything. His grandkids always put a huge smile on his face — they lit up his world, and he lit up theirs. His sense of humor, knack for nicknames, and habit of inventing his own words brought endless laughter to those around him. Tom had a gift for making people feel happy, often with a joke, a grin, or a playful comment that no one else could have delivered quite like him.

Outside of family, Tom was a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. However, his true happy place was in the backyard, taking maybe a little too long to barbecue steaks while enjoying a beverage in hand and the nature & calm around him. He also treasured Christmas vacations in Florida, soaking up the sun, relaxing in the hot tub, and making memories with family.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at the CASO Railway Station in St. Thomas on March 21, 2026 from 1pm-4pm, where family and friends will gather to share stories and celebrate the joy he brought to every moment.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society in Tom’s memory, in honor of the care and compassion that supported him and the family through his journey.

Messages and condolence for the family may be left in the comments box below.
