Paula Ann Onyschuk

It is with unimaginable sadness that we announce the passing of Paula Ann Onyschuk, who left this world on February 4, 2026, at the age of 60, following a short hard-fought battle with lung cancer.

Paula is survived by her children, Falon Kraak (Epy), Nick Fitzgerald (Hailey), and Erin McGuire (Cody), who were the greatest joys of her life. She was the proudest Nannie to her grandchildren Emmett, Stella, Lincoln and Bella. As their biggest fan, Paula could always be found cheering the loudest in the stands at hockey games or beaming proudly from the sidelines at dance and soccer. She was also a devoted dog-mom to her german shepherd, Jules.

Cherished sister of Nikki Gorgi, and Beloved Aunt to Norm Kelly, Ed Kelly, Shawn Kelly, Jason Kelly (Wendy), Tanya Geneau (Geno), and adored by her many great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, John & Mary Onyschuk and her sister, Sharon Kelly.

Paula had a deep and abiding love for horses, a passion that shaped her life and brought remarkable people into her world. These animals were not simply a hobby, but a profound part of her identity. The relationships formed through this shared love run deep and far, and she will always be a respected role model. Her loss will be forever felt throughout the horse community.

Having only been diagnosed in November; the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered support throughout Paula’s battle and during this time of loss. Your kindness and compassion have been deeply felt and truly appreciated.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 20th, at 1pm with an Open House to follow from 2-5pm at La Petite Chapelle 153 Blandford Street, Innerkip ON. Please join family and friends as they come together to honour Paula’s memory and the extraordinary woman she was.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norfolk Saddle Club, reflecting Paula’s enduring love for horses and the meaningful relationships that defined her life by emailing norfolksaddleclub@hotmail.com, or a charity of your choice in Paula’s name.

Messages and condolences for the family may be left in the comments box below.
