Dodey Gregory (Cowell)

1932 - 2026

Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Monday, April 6, 2026, in her 94th year.  She was born in London, Ontario on November 1, 1932.

Devoted wife of the late Ed Gregory.

Loving Mom of Ron Cowell Jr. (predeceased 2025) (Deborah Cowell), Randy Cowell, Cathy Barnes, and Scott Cowell (predeceased Chris Cowell 2024).

She will be missed by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Loving sister of Bunny Walker (predeceased 2025).

Dodey spent her working years at The London Free Press, Sinclair Pontiac-Buick, and Goodhost Foods, followed by a real estate career. 

Dodey had many treasured memories of time spent at the cottage and boat in Port Franks.

Dodey’s happy place was at the Western Fair slots where she spent countless hours and enjoyed its perks.  She loved playing cards and belonged to an eight “gal-pal” euchre club for many years.

Always a hard-working individual, Dodey loved decorating and puttering around her condo.  She was passionate about watching golf and enjoyed playing it in her younger years.  Dodey loved to host family gatherings and serve up her special dishes and desserts.

As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation, funeral or celebration of life. 

Mom asked that the following poem be included in her obituary:  

I Am With You Still

I give you this one thought to keep
I am with you still – do not weep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still - in each new dawn.
