Stanley John Mech

1930 - 2023

Surrounded by the love of his family, it is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Stanley.

Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Olga Mech. Loving father to Gerald (Sandra), Charlene, Kathleen (Dawn), Andrew and grandfather to Derek and Ryan.

Stanley was devoted to his dog Tarzan.

Stanley is remembered by his sister-in-law Oksana as well as his nieces, nephews and friends.

Stanley was predeceased by his parents Victoria and Stephan, his brother Walter, his sister Helen Garby, his nephew Gregory, and his brother-in-law John Garby.

Stanley offered every ounce of his being to his family. Wherever there was a need, Stanley was always there.

Stan is remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his generosity, unwavering strength, and high moral values. Stanley was a true gentlemen in every sense of the word. In his final weeks, Stanley would still reach out to open doors for others, a timeless gesture engrained a lifetime. Stanley always put the needs of others before his own.

Stan’s reputation extended into the world of business. He established his family business Stan Mech Agencies Inc in 1981 and later StanMech Industrial Sales Inc.

Stan was highly respected by all who had the opportunity to work with him. His creative problem solving came from a genuine interest to help others.

Stan Mech’s reputation became synonymous with his own name, as the business transitioned and Stan entered retirement.

Stanley enjoyed his final years living with his daughter and their pets. He cherished visits and time spent with his family.

Stanley learned the art of relaxation. On a warm sunny day, Stan would be found sitting outside, with his loyal companion Tarzan beside him.

‘Olga’ remained close to Stan’s heart. He would often be heard humming a song ‘Olga’ loved to play or be observed touching her photo in a moment of quiet reflection. They are again united restored to perfect health.

Stan wore many hats and was the go to person as a family man and a businessman.

Hats off to ‘Stan the Man’ with our love, gratitude, and utmost respect. Missing you deeply until we meet again.

In memory of Stanley, nothing seems more befitting than extending an ‘Act of Kindness.’
