Ronald George Robinson
We are heartbroken to announce the death of Ronald George Robinson in his 76th year on July 15th 2025, after a long battle with Cancer and COPD.
Our dad will be dearly missed by family and friends. His family was his pride and joy and his greatest role in his life was being the most loving G’Pa to his 9 grandchildren.
Ronnie Rye will be remembered as a Gentle Giant of a man who loved life to the fullest with a Work Hard Play Harder approach that he carried throughout his amazing 76 years.
His wealth of knowledge he gained from growing up on the family farm in Leamington allowed him to teach us so many invaluable skills and lessons including how to replace an engine that ran perfectly with 8 bolts and 2 gaskets left over!!!
He is the only man you will have met that passed his driver’s license test on his 16th birthday and drove a horse trailer to Chicago the same day!!!!
Ron taught us all how to love your family and friends unconditionally, he was determined to provide for his family to give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.
As a friend He was always a person you could count on and didn't hesitate to help anyone in need. If it was a late-night call to fix anything you could not, or help you in planning your weekend shenanigans, Ron was there Rye in hand!!
Ron fought braver and longer than most..to get just one more day to wake up beside his wife and love of his life Linda. 54 years was never enough time for him to show Linda how much he loved her. In Dad’s style he promised to wait for Mom
Dad, your legacy will forever live on through the countless lives you touched and the lessons you taught us. Though we mourn your loss, we also celebrate the incredible life you lived. … Thank you for being the best father and GPa any of us could have asked for. We love you, we miss you, and we will continue to make you proud.
Rest in peace, Ronnie Rye.
At Ron’s request there will be no visitations or funeral service. A Celebration of Life is set for Sunday Aug 24, 2025, at Golden Pond Resort Hall from 1pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to the Oxford United Way.
