Georges Gagné

Georges Gagné, born September 26 (81yrs-old), 1944, in St-Zacharie, Quebec, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025 in London, Ontario, after a very quick and aggressive battle with cancer.

Georges worked the tobacco fields near Tillsonburg and Delhi and it was there he met the love of his life, Doreen (nee Ecker). Georges worked many jobs such as a butcher, truck driver, and fabricator before a dedicated 31-year career as a welder at General Motors and General Dynamics. Whether at work or at home, Georges could fix or build almost anything. If a task needed a tool, he had it, and he loved helping anyone who needed a hand.

Georges and Doreen married and shared 59 years before her passing in November, 2024. Together they raised three children: Daniel (deceased), David, and Christine. Georges was a proud grandfather to Raven, Perry, and Roman, the children of David and Isabelle, and to Tyler and Cameron, the children of Christine. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Emma, through Tyler and Linda. Predeceased by his parents, Sylva and Blanche. He had nine siblings: Ghislain, Paul, Jeanne, Denise, Gisele, Ghislaine, Simone, Anicel, and Roger. Georges and Doreen attended Faith Tabernacle in London, where they formed strong friendships and found community and their church home.

Honouring Georges’ wishes, cremation has taken place through Forest City Cremation. He requested no formal funeral service. Instead, a relaxed barbecue celebration will be held at Faith Tabernacle in London on December 13 at 11am. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate his life. No suits, ties, or formal attire are requested.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the palliative care team at University Hospital in London for their compassion in his final days, and to everyone who visited and encouraged him during his brief illness. Georges will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
