Mark Robert Lawrence Lambier
On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, in his 58th year, Mark Robert Lawrence Lambier passed from this world and went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, with his loving wife and youngest daughter by his side. This concluded his long battle with chronic kidney disease.
Mark is now reunited with his darling daughter Emma, who left this earth 29 years and one day before her father. He is also predeceased by his father Robert Lambier, grandparents Francis and Floretta (Hollinger) Lambier, and Alfred and Mary (Crosbie) Cameron, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark is survived by his wife and best friend of nearly 20 years, Jocelyn (Goss) Lambier, his adult daughters Rebecca and Hannah, and youngest daughter, Eliana. He is also leaving behind his mother, Betty (Cameron) Lambier, his mother-in-law Carolyn (Phillips) Goss, father-in-law James Goss, sister Marcy (Jim Sitt), sister-in-law Rhonda (Rick Nicholson), brother-in-law Jeff (Mary Pat O’Connor) Goss, as well as 4 nieces, a nephew, a great niece, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Truly a man of many talents, Mark used them all to bless so many. A lifetime student who loved learning and took great pride in all of his efforts, his thirst for knowledge after high school first appeared when he received a diploma in Accounting as valedictorian. His next step was the first year of Sir Sanford's Forestry program. Early in his career he drove a truck and loved operating the big rig. He had many stories to tell: from delivering eggs from Grayridge Egg Farms, to meeting the mayor of New York while triple parked downtown, to picking up chocolate from Hershey’s, to finding out the reason the watermelon harvesters played loud music. He loved working for Erb Transport the most and took great pride in it. After about a decade it was time to come off the road, and Mark started apprenticing as a Trailer Mechanic before switching programs to Truck and Trailer Mechanic at Fanshawe. When his health began affecting his work, he knew it was time to hang up the wrenches. He enrolled in the Law Clerk/Paralegal program, from which he graduated on the dean’s list, all the while going through dialysis. He even had a side hustle teaching Electrical in the Diesel Mechanic program that he had previously completed. Mark’s passion was always with technology and after his kidney transplant he enrolled in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. His kidney would reject and fail about halfway through, but that didn’t stop Mark. He graduated on the President’s Honour Roll and was very excited to begin working.
Sadly, it was not meant to be, and after a series of events in 2012 his health began a steeper decline. Through it all, Mark maintained his positive attitude and kept re-inventing himself with each new road block. He tried his best to keep up with technology and was always collecting electronic devices to build new devices. Before 3D printing really took off he even started building his own. There seemed to be no challenge he wasn’t up for, and he even put a laptop back together in his sleep and it powered on afterward! Mark was also a self-taught wood worker and built a beautiful sideboard as a 5th anniversary gift, using a picture from a magazine and a band saw.
It was with a servant's heart, and a love for his wife and daughters especially, that Mark courageously faced the past decade, full of more ambulance rides and hospital stays than a person can keep track of. He recovered time and again, and always attributed the miracles to God's great mercy and love.
The last decade was a significant struggle, but it would have been impossible without the tireless efforts and support from Mark's medical teams. Mark's family would be honoured to receive friends at Summerside Community Church, 1447 Commissioners Rd. E., London, ON on Friday, December 30, 2022. Visitation at 1pm will precede a 2pm service, followed by light refreshments, as we collectively say goodbye to our beloved Mark.
