Remembering you is easy,
We do it every day,
but missing you is a heartache
that will never go away.
With your brightly coloured outfits and your lipstick in tow,
We do miss you so.

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of their Mom and Nana at the Village of Glendale Crossing on Monday October 9, 2017 in her 83rd year.

Ruth was the daughter of the late Russell and Wilhelmina Shoeman. Loving mom to Lyn Smith and the late David Smith (1996). Supportive and loving Nana to Amanda Martin (Tyler Hetherington), Craig Martin (Katie McAllister) and Brad Martin. Dear sister of Stan Shoeman (Rosalie). Also survived by brother-in-law Alex Sitter, sister-in-law Joan Shoeman, and nieces and nephews. Long time friend of Diane McMillan, and many others.

Predeceased by brothers Russell Shoeman, Joe Shoeman and sister Bernadine Sitter.

A special thank-you to the staff and caregivers at Village of Glendale Crossing for their care, kindness and support.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will be taking place at a later date. Please contact family for visitation information.

We were very sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. She had a great sense of humour, lots of spirit and was a wonderful addition to our Bridge Club for many years. Our sympathy is extended to all her family.

Thanks Gerry, I fondly remember the bridge games at the house. I used to get to stay up till everyone arrived. If you are interested we will be having a small gathering to share a memory. Please let me know if you would like more details. Lyn

Hello,Lyn,
I was very sorry to find out about your Mom’s passing. I just found out last evening. I am one of your Mom’s nursing classmates and we had stayed in contact over all these years. I visited with your Mom ( stayed with her) for several days one of our trips to Ont.. The last while we have only been in contact by phone or when I wrote to her. I know she was not happy to be in the care home and she told me the last time we talked her Parkinson’s was getting worse and I could tell that by her speech(and our shortened calls). I will mis her, but not as much as you will. May it help a little to know others are thinking of you at this sad time. She was soooproud of her grand kids and their doings ! At times like these you have to remember the happy times . Thinking of you with love, Muriel Cameron still in Saskatchewan
