She was predeceased by the love of her life Ivan in 1988, both passing on the first day of summer. She also has a surviving sister Theri Anderson from Sudbury, Ontario.
Our beautiful Mother was the most courageous and loving Mother. We meant the world to her. Maurice (Laura) from Sudbury, Ontario, Elaine (Frank) from North Bay, Ontario, and Francine (Robert) from London, Ontario will miss her terribly. Her grandchildren Annyse (Travis) and Michelle (Gilbert) along with her 8 great grandchildren to whom she was known as “Mime” will also have her in their hearts forever.
She was so special in many ways. Mom was an amazing cook, she made the best pies ever...except raisin pie, she disliked raisins! Mom made crafts of all kinds, and her cold room was always full of preserves. Her pickled beets and dill recipes are still shared between family and friends.
She worked in Customer Service at Canadian Tire in Sudbury for many years and was loved by staff and customers, always having a story and a laugh to share.
Ivan and Mom would spend hours playing cribbage, working in their garden and fishing.
We would like to think Mom and Ivan are fishing now on Ivanhoe Lake, which was no doubt their most special place on earth.
There will be a private celebration of life with family at Ivanhoe Lake in July followed by interment at Sudbury’s Civic Memorial Cemetery.
A very special thank you to the staff at McCormick Home’s Memory Lane who have loved and given such good care to our Mother in the last few years of her life.
