Mal, Dad, Dadad:

Starting life as a farmer in rural England, Malcolm went on to join the Royal Marines in his early 20s, and was deployed all around the world. After moving to Canada in 1971, he joined the London Police Force, where he had a successful 20+ year career. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, travelling, reading, and volunteering in his local communities. While living a life dedicated to civil and public duty brought Malcolm great pride, he felt there was no greater accomplishment than his family.

After a chance meeting, Malcolm met and wed his wife Elizabeth in 1963, going onto enjoy 54 amazing (depending on when and who you asked) years of marriage. And while his love for his wife had no limits, his love for his children and grandchildren were without question.

Known by many, Malcolm could be described as countless things: generous, kind, selfless, witty, a true gentleman; ask anyone and they’ll tell you he has the best laugh in the room. With his big goofy ears, deep blue eyes, and undeniable charm, Malcolm lit up any room he walked into. Although he will be missed by many, Malcolm has left behind a life well lived, and people well loved.

During Malcolm’s valiant fight with cancer, he had special people that provided care and supported him through his journey. No one was dearer in his heart than Karen and her family.  Our heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at Parkwood and the VON Palliative team, specifically to Carly, Stella, and Ann. The family would also like to thank Malcolm’s “boyzies” for showing up for every Wednesday coffee, even when Malcolm became housebound. And finally a very special thank you to Dana for everything you did to support him.

Malcolm has now taken up residence at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in London, in Section Veteran’s Triangle, Lot 887, where he’ll wait for his wife to join him once again. Family encourages anyone wishing to pay their respects or just simply visit, to go there whenever they please. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation- Palliative Care program. The family thanks you all for your kind words, they epitomize the man that was Malcolm Vizer.

Love Always
