Jeff was born and raised in London, ON and left home to attend Ottawa University. In his early 20's he made the move to Toronto where he had since planted his roots. He loved the city and loved taking his kids to Nannu's Pastizzi for his favourite treat.
Jeff was a larger than life kind of guy. He knew how to make an entrance and was always up for a good time.
He loved his job at TD Canada Trust. He was so proud to work there and loved sharing that passion on his social media. He was one of the biggest Raptors and Leaf fans out there. He faithfully watched the games and was very pumped when the Raps became the NBA champions last year. It is sad that he will not be here to see the Leafs win the Cup one day. And oh yes they will!
Jeff loved old family movies, blockbuster movies and a wide range of music too. He was always playing it loud and proud.
For Jeff, family always came first. He loved being a dad more than anything. He was so excited planning camping and fishing trips with his kids and taking them to Canada's Wonderland. He loved planning big summer Grech family get togethers as well, whenever he could make it happen. His nephews will always remember him as "funny Uncle Jeff".
Jeff was an amazing painter. He painted Lamborghini's, dreaming of one day owning one. His Doug Gilmour painting was one of his favourites and he was excited when he found out they went to the same family doctor. Both Doug and Jeff's spouses at the time were expecting so Jeff brought that painting in every time he went in for appointments, hoping that he would run into him and one day his wish came true and he was there and he got it signed. He was ecstatic.
Jeff was also the Student Council President at his high school Regina Mundi College. It was a big highlight of his life and still wore his class ring to this day.
He has made so many friends over the years and touched so many lives. For those who were lucky enough to meet him, they will always have a memory of him that will make them smile.
Jeff is survived by his three beautiful children, Lear (11), Ever (9), Bodhi (15 months) as well as his mother Genevieve (Grech), his father and stepmother Henry and Maria (Grech), sister Laura and brother-in-law Chris (DeGroot), his nephews Spencer and Nathan and his many cousins, uncles, aunts, friends, Erika Tustin and her family and Jamie Reid.
Jeff, you will be dearly missed and are loved forever in our hearts. It's hard to think of life without you but we will make sure to keep your spirit alive by playing loud music, being goofy, planning parties and sharing our memories of you.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, a GoFundMe account has been set up for his children's education. Please go to: GoFundMe.com/f/Grech-family-fund. Please visit Jeff's obituary notice on Facebook.
