I met Chris at Westover. He was so welcoming to me. I cried my first day, but Chris was there with words of encouragement. We became very close over my first two weeks. He was always there to lend and ear, or with a big hug if I needed one. We had a blackout one night and I hid behind the pocket doors of the living room so no one could see me. I scared Chris so badly that he jumped out of his skin and spilled his coffee everywhere. We laughed so hard together. It was my most memorable moments at Westover. He had forgotten his books when he left, so we made plans to visit each other. A fellow housemate had offered to take them to him as they both lived in London. I now wish I had of kept them. But I do still have a message from him in my book completed with a smiley face and a heart. I will cherish that piece I have of him forever. I planned to call him that particular night, but I thought to myself " I can wait one more day". I really wish I had. Maybe that phone call could have made a difference. My heart goes out to his lovely daughter who I know he loved and cared for so very much. I also express condolences to his wonderful parents who I had the pleasure of meeting on the family weekend. I want them to know that soon a brick will be placed in loving memory of Chris along the Westover pathway. He made such an impact on my recovery I owe him that. I will cherish his spirit forever. May he rest in peace.
