Dorothy was born in Grenville, Quebec in 1922. She was an avid tennis player and swimmer (beginning in her early teens in Lac Grenville, Kilmar, Quebec) and was on the swim team at her all girls high school in Montreal. She continued her love of swimming and taught her children and grandchildren to swim, with a warm towel to embrace them afterwards. She was the ultimate homemaker and made the best chocolate chip cookies, homemade strawberry jam and shepherds pie. Family will cherish the many happy get togethers around her dinner table. She lived a full life of fun and adventure with travels to Jamaica, Hawaii and throughout North America. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always welcomed them with open arms and hugs and kisses. She will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew her.
Many thanks to the medical team at the ACE unit at Victoria Hospital, London, and especially to the caring staff and Palliative Care Team at The Village of Glendale Crossing, for their exemplary compassion and loving care.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at St. James Westminster Anglican Church at a future date, for a celebration of Dorothy’s life.
