November 18, 1938 to April 28, 2022

Marilyn passed away peacefully, with her children by her side, at University Hospital, London Ontario, on Thursday, in her 84th year.

She will be forever missed by daughter Kimberley, son Brian (Kim), cherished granddaughter Madisyn, and of course Harley, her very spoiled cat.

Marilyn was born and raised in St. Thomas, Ontario, and was pre-deceased by her Husband Gordon in 2020.

In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Emergency Medicine team of doctors and nurses for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the LHSC Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Bill was born in St. Mary’s Ontario on November 21, 1929.

He stayed there until in his words “it was time to hit the bricks” and that’s just what he did.

The next part of his life was spent in the Royal Canadian Air Force before eventually landing here in London. In 1958 he met a dark-haired beauty from Cape Breton and not to be outdone, he promptly told her he was from Saskatchewan. This marked the first and only time in history that a man said he was from Saskatchewan to impress a woman. On the morning of April 21, 2022, he left us to be with his dark-haired beauty and love of his life Anna. He is predeceased by his wife Anna, his daughter-in-law Wendy Dufton, his grandson Mike Dufton as well as all of his brothers and sisters.

He leaves behind his five children. Chuck (Liz), Laura, Christine (Jedd), David (Sandy) and Rebecca.

He also leaves behind, once again, in his own words, “ A whole raft of grandchildren and great grandchildren.” If you knew our father you will miss him. If you didn’t you missed out.

Bye Dad. We love you.

Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at a later date.

Survived by his siblings Robert, Gary, Johnny, Reg, Violet, Ricky, Mike, Theresa, Mary, Marjorie and predeceased by his siblings Harold, Joanne and David. He will be missed dearly by his 5 grandchildren, Alexandria, Brandon, Massimo, Ottavia, and Willow who were his pride and joy. Archie was a proud veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. He loved his weekly calls with his brother Johnny which took place every Saturday without fail. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. If you didn’t laugh at his joke, he’d repeat it to make sure you understood it. He adored his cat Peanut who he treated to a shrimp everyday. Archie was a talented woodworker and loved to rebuild cars.  He always had the cleanest car in town.

Thank you to his good friends Bill and Jan Foster, Lloyd Allayed and to his brother-in-law Jim Ross for all their love and support. Archie’s contagious laugh will be missed by anyone who was fortunate to know him.

Thank you to the ICU staff at University Hospital, particularly Meghan and Sue.

Cremation has taken place. A burial and gathering for friends and family will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 at 1:30pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery located at 2001 Dundas Street East, London ON, followed by a reception at BMO Centre located at 295 Rectory St. London, ON.

In honour of Archie, laugh today and tell your loved ones how special they are to you.

Peacefully at Jessica’s House Hospice (Exeter, ON) on Friday April 1st, 2022.

Alleyn was born in 1924 into a large family (one of seven surviving children) and although growing up during the Great Depression was unlike any time we can imagine, she looked back on her childhood as a happy time. She spoke of simple joys like playing in the snow with her siblings, attending a one room schoolhouse and simple fun like playing card games (Auction45s). Alleyn like most of her siblings left rural New Brunswick and in 1951 she was one of the first to graduate from St. Peters Infirmary (Hamilton, ON) as a Registered Nursing Assistant. Alleyn loved her work at LTC homes and retired from Parkwood Hospital LHSC in 1989. To care and be kind to others was just her quiet manner. Alleyn volunteered for many years at the London Mission Services. She loved practical work and spent time sewing, mending, cooking and gardening. In later years she was most content sitting in the shade watching the birds in the garden.

Alleyn is predeceased by her parents, sister and best friend Alice (2018) siblings and husband Vince (1988). She is always missed by her children Audrey, Josephine (Steve) and Vince, her grandchildren Elizabeth (Teresa), Audrey (Mike), Brenda (Jamie), Morgan and Thomas, her many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Alleyn believed in the power of community and the importance of volunteering. Donations to Jessica’s House, London Mission Services or a community partner you support would be appreciated in her honour.
