It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Ronald Ian Murray. Ron passed away peacefully on February 11th, 2023 at the age of 82, after a brief illness.

Ron (Pancho) was born to parents Allan and Jeannie Murray (nee McCutcheon), on April 23, 1940, in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. After graduating high school he completed a 5 year apprenticeship to become an auto mechanic at Kelburne Garage in Paisley. He later worked for Roots Scotland and then immigrated to Canada in 1966 to work for Roots Canada. After living in Canada for several years Ron then pursued further education to become a heavy duty diesel mechanic.

Ron is survived by his daughters Debi (Derek), Wendy (Terry) and his beloved grandchildren Madison, Mason, Landon and Bergen. He is also survived by his brother Douglas and sister Jean of Scotland and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Scotland.

Ron is predeceased by his parents Allan and Jeannie, sister Janette, brothers Colin and Allan and nephew Stephen.

Ron was very handy and was always willing to help others with their vehicles and other projects big or small. He loved to cook and was fascinated with history, drawing and astronomy. His daughters have many wonderful memories of him fishing, doing cannonballs in the pool, taking them to dance competitions and their educational family trips. He took great joy in his grandchildren, spending many hours playing with them, building things, riding his bike and sharing his knowledge of planes and trains.

A very special thank you to all the staff at McCormick Home who loved and cared for Ron over the past 4 years.

At Ron's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead the family will be gathering at a later date to celebrate his life.

Messages and condolences may be left at www.forestcitycremation.com. Please visit Ron's obituary notice on Facebook.

He loved cooking, being outdoors in all seasons from snowboarding to camping, listening to country music drinking craft beer. He loved travelling and road trips with family and friends and enjoyed every moment he could with his granddaughter.

Dave was extremely grateful for all the amazing love and support he received throughout his battle. A special thank you to Dr. Saini and all the staff of C7 for all the amazing care and compassion they had for Dave during his many stays and his last final days.
